Under pressure PalmPay reacts releases threat and arrest warnings to media outlets over KudiWave reports

Image
A new phase has emerged in the dispute involving PalmPay Limited and KudiWave Technologies Limited, with media organisations that reported developments in the matter said to have received messages from PalmPay warning of possible arrest and demanding the removal of published stories. The warnings followed media coverage of two major developments in the dispute. The first concerned the movement of N750,369,439.04 from KudiWave’s account by PalmPay. The second involved PalmPay’s reported position that KudiWave’s address and the ownership of the account were unknown, a claim KudiWave later challenged with documents and evidence of previous dealings between both companies. One of the major pieces of evidence presented by KudiWave was a PalmPay correspondence dated July 28, which expressly identified KudiWave Technologies Limited and Account No. 8889232516. In the same letter, PalmPay asked the Nigeria Police Force to transfer N750,369,439.04, which it described as standing in a design...

Ghana’s cordial cross-party leadership offers continental blueprint for democratic resilience – new ACCP-UPF research

Image
By Mathew Sandra A landmark research paper co-published by the African Chamber of Content Producers (ACCP) and the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Ghana has identified the respectful, cross-party relationships among Ghana’s parliamentary leaders as a primary driver of the country’s democratic stability. The study, which surveyed 400 citizens across seven regions of Ghana, concludes that when political leaders model cordiality across party lines, their followers see no reason for conflict, a lesson the researchers say can be replicated across Africa. The paper, titled “Institutionalizing a Strong and Responsible Opposition for Democratic Resilience in Africa: A Ghana Case Study (2025/2026 Review)” , is already available as a preprint on ResearchGate, Academia.edu, Zenodo, and SSRN. Its findings have been submitted to peer-reviewed international journals and are now being positioned as a practical roadmap for achieving Aspiration 3 of the African Union’s Agenda 2063, an Africa of good g...

Emanvee on Why “Mumu Love” Is Not Really About Being a Fool

Image
By Emanvee At first glance, the title “Mumu Love” sounds playful. For many Nigerians, the phrase is often used to describe someone who loves too much, trusts too easily, or stays committed even when they are being taken for granted. But beneath its familiar expression, Emanvee’s “Mumu Love” explores something much deeper. Rather than mocking people who love wholeheartedly, the song challenges a culture that sometimes treats kindness, loyalty, and emotional honesty as weaknesses. From the opening verse, Emanvee tells the story of someone who gave everything they could to a relationship. “I give you my heart, no condition attached.” The line immediately establishes the character at the center of the song. This is not someone playing games or keeping score. It is someone who genuinely wanted to love another person without reservation. Unfortunately, that love is not returned with the same sincerity. Throughout the song, the narrator reflects on being overlooked, taken for granted, a...
